Helmet of salvation: Aligning your actions with your identity

1st Peter 1:13-16 | So prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control. Put all your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world. So you must live as God’s obedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then. But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.”

  • The Helmet of Salvation is about remembering who you belong to. Are you a child of God? How do you know?

  • According to 1st Peter 1:13-16, how should God’s obedient children live?

  • Do your actions usually match your identity as a child of God? In what ways or why not?

  • What actions need to change so that your actions match the name you bear as a Christ follower?

  • How can putting on the Helmet of Salvation each day help you walk as a child of God should?
