Helmet of Salvation: Think on these things

Philippians 4:8-9 | And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me (Saul/Paul!) and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.

  • What kinds of thoughts do you think on often? [For example, are you often anxious, discouraged, discontent, fearful, angry, insecure, proud, joyful, grateful, etc.?]

  • On what kinds of thoughts should our minds dwell?

  • What have you learned from the Battle Ready series that you can use to keep your mind fixed on these things, like Paul instructs?

  • Part of battling well in our mind is having an action plan. Think through your repetitive thoughts that don’t align with this verse. Then, think through some thoughts you can “think on” to bring these thoughts in submission to Biblical truth (2 Cor. 10:3-5) and in line with Philippians 4:8-9.
