Throughout the book of Judges, God’s people turn away from Him over and over again. Each time, they end up suffering as slaves because of their unfaithfulness. Eventually, they get tired of their struggle and they cry out to God for help. Then, God answers the cries of His people by raising up judges.

These judges were the men and women God chose to lead His people back to freedom and Himself. While the judges were chosen by God, they were just human - normal people like you and me! Because of this, they weren’t perfect. In fact, in their stories, we see that most of them were very far from it. Each of them was a flawed hero. None-the-less, God uses each of them powerfully.

Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up.

Judges: God uses "Judges" for our rescue

2nd Timothy 3:16 | All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.

Jude 1:23 | Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgment. Show mercy to still others, but do so with great caution, hating the sins that contaminate their lives.
